What Is App Furnace ?

AppFurnace is a set of online tools that will help you create an app without the need of high level programming skills.

First Experience on App-Furnace

My first try of experimenting on App Furnace was very easy in a sense of learning the functions needed to create an app. My end product of that session was creating this light hearted app which links to other pages which do not really have any content or specific purpose, however to be an eye catching experience.

The different tools were the main experience of learning how to use the programme, in which making text, linking pages, adding in images as well as uploading them to the site. The final product for that session was a homepage having GIF buttons leading to other pages.

First Sketch

The sketch indicates an app design which is a music library, targeted at individuals who want to learn about the music genre. It also is an app to follow tour dates for artists and projects that they have worked on.

The sketch shows the homepage as being the main hub linking to the other pages. The main homepage would have a collection of artists which would link to the specific pages of the artists.

"design idea 1" is a brief sketch of what the artist page would look like which is later developed.

This idea shows at the top of the top of the page, a video gallery would be shown as well as a scroll bar going down the page to reveal more content about the artist.

design idea 2 would be very similar however this would have a scroll system on the whole page as instead of being to a specific part of the page.

The main homepage is developed. The heads of the artist would be the button which would lead to the pages, however there is also a random button which would pick one page randomly, by clicking the dice button this would do so.

The image down below would display the different pages listed, along with the randomization function which would land you on a random page out of the list when the button is clicked.

Mobile Testing

using the app version of app furnace you are able to view your created app on your mobile device. This was very important in the creation of the app, as generally it would be important for the final production of the app to be viewable on a mobile device.

Some issues occurred, such as the icons were fixed on the page, and in some cases would be slipping off the page. This issue had been fixed as later the images were all set to proportional during creation. This would allow the icons to proportionally to sit on the page depending on the dimensions of the screen to be perfectly viewable.
